PhD Studies


So I’m back where it all began. In 2007 I started my Bachelor of Music degree in Composition at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and now I’m back, commencing as a PhD candidate, but with a twist. My research lies in discarded audio technology: cassette players, floppy disk drives, old sampling chips and primitive record players. I’m focusing on how repurposing and transforming these objects can be catalysts for new compositional techniques. My music has always been informed by such technologies.
